14. Chris York's job, like any establishment narrative manager, is to weave stories about what's going on in the world which can be used by other narrative managers. Input from the general public is neither sought nor desired. They're to be *told* what they think, not asked.
15. Nobody sets out to become a propagandist. You go to journalism school with the goal of attaining a noble profession, then everything gets weird and suddenly you find yourself writing smear pieces about teachers and bloggers and wondering what the hell happened to your life.
16. But by that time you're too invested; you've made a life for yourself which everyone around you tells you is noble and praiseworthy, and you have no skills for doing anything else. But you're a propagandist. By and large that's what employment in the mainstream media entails.
17. Notice what a large percentage of York's articles are not even truly addressed to the general public, but to forums and universities with the goal of deplatforming and silencing skeptics of establishment Syria narratives. His sole goal is eliminating dissident thought.
