Looking for some more diverse historian suggestions? Aware that as we try to get students to engage with more historians in lessons at KS3 up that a "historian" is starting to look a bit samey to the students... (no criticism of selected historians) #historyteacher #educhatpic.twitter.com/6lBjGcyqeD

We do use Simon Gikandi and Deborah Lipstadt... but I would really like to have more and from a whole range of backgrounds.

I appreciate that was a broad request! But quite broad: British History 1066-present, French Revolution, Elizabeth I, Migration and Empire c.790 to present, Cold War and Nazi Germany - trying to work them in when we can and particularly when there’s debate which we can challenge

In terms of Britain you could try Ron ramdin’s making of black British working class responding to E.P Thompson. French rev CLR James black jacobins offers a diff take hourani on arab histories and Eric Williams on the end of slavery.

I think it can be powerful to show pupils people working as historians now, and the diversity of historians writing and broadcasting and tweeting is inspiring on so many levels
