There’s something deeply unsettling about these discarded gravestones. Precious time-weathered memory markers of once real people just stacked and seemingly forgotten. Awful.
I know what you mean. Though the cemetery saw much worse in the past — back when it was still in use, they would regularly dig up several bodies when making a new grave as it was so packed...
What did they do with the graves?
Still there under the park; same with the burials around the church in the former burial ground there, which begin just inches under the grass...
