Shared all of that Doc! Thank you. Pretty incredible how long a history those three have as identified individuals. Local lore? Theodoria's investigations? Very interesting. 1 of my favorite stories too!
This is from a sarcophagus from the 4th century and I thought it was one of the earliest depictions of the Magi. Plus #camels!pic.twitter.com/lV5hF6DrrF
Wonderful, smiley camels! The Magi appear as a three from the earliest depictions, but not clear if names go back to that period iirc :)
Ahhh! Thanks! Love the grabby-hands Jesus too!
Yes! :)
'Presents please!'
Thanks for that, I wasn't aware of it!
No worries :) :) The 6thC def seems to be the point where their names gain currency :)
My teens who I have shared this whole interaction are like me Dad, that's really cool - Internet and Parenting win for the day! THANKS FOLKS!
Hah! That's fab :)
Excellent! Tomorrow after mass chalk will be blessed by the priest & then I will write over the lintel of the main door of the house 20 + C + M + B + 18 while saying a prayer. The letters stand for the names of the Magi but also 'Christus Mansionem Benedicat.' I hope He does!
Oh, I like that :)
