Virtually tied in third place was this brief chronology of an awareness of Britain's existence outside of Northwestern/Atlantic Europe, c.600 BC to AD 1313 :)https://twitter.com/caitlinrgreen/status/835585739442245632 …

In contrast, far, far fewer people read this one about long-distance migrants in 8th–10thC Spain from June :)https://twitter.com/caitlinrgreen/status/871083541899206657 …
In any case, thanks for reading and following, and I hope you all have a very Happy New Year :)
Do we know how long these goods were in circulation ? Their story if ever it can told will be amazing.
Some were buried in mint condition, so didn't circulate for long (e.g. some of the coins buried in China), others were buried etc sometime after (e.g. Byzantine silver plate in Russia) :)
Thanks, Always wondered about these artefacts as a retired shipmaster once remembered in the early sixties being given Marie Theresa coins in payment for a cargo.
Yes, those lasted in circulation for a very long time. Sand with done Roman Republican issues. By and large, most of the dots on my map were made and buried in Late Antiquity, fwiw :) the main exception are the Russian finds :)
(that should read "same with some etc"! Curse of autocorrect!)
Thank you,
