Maybe, one day we shall find more combs with 'Thorfast made a good comb' written on them and the advertising interpretation will be more likely. Or maybe Thorfast was not a professional comb maker and was just pleased with his one effort.
Indeed! Suspect we'll never know! Just fun to speculate :) (Fwiw, site it came from was destroyed in the 19thC to become a railway station)
