Driving through Bloomsbury past modest hotels with grand names, The Argyll, The Lonsdale, The Belvoir; and The Thanet. Thanet? I wonder for a moment if it’s named after St Bugga of Thanet, but doubt it.

Since I read that posting by @caitlingreen, I never see the word Thanet without dreaming of our island's Phoenician history. I see coastal hills called Rame everywhere now.

Hah! I'm glad you enjoyed it :) For what it's worth, now some isotopic burial evidence to support: several people buried at Cliffs End who probably grew up in North Africa in the 9th to 3rd centuries BC... See http://www.caitlingreen.org/2015/08/a-mediterranean-anchor.html …

ex. Ramatuelle (fr), ALL those hills just inland along the Israeli coastline. Yes, thank you, I've also read that posting! You know already you're the reason I finally signed up to Twitter!😀(and now my first use of an emoji)

FYI, I regard the failure of Farage to gain a seat in Thanet as TANIT looking after her own.
