      Fwiw, Lincoln Cathedral was also once the tallest building in the world from 1311 to 1548 (160m), when its central spire fell in a storm!           Lincoln Cathedral is already pretty overwhelming, sites on a steep hillside — hard to imagine quite how it dominated the skyline when it was so much taller!
