Uncertain, but there does seem to be a Lincolnshire interest in chariot racing, several depictions of it or charioteers!

Why on display in Hull? Why not Lincoln? It was found in Lincolnshire!
It's a bit like why Grimsby treasures are in Lincoln! At least Lincoln has a museum unlike my home town

The Charioteers in the Piazza Armerina are interesting too. That one depicts them wearing waist sashes (Fasciae Ventrales).
