it's also worth stressing how the analysis of ancestry from modern DNA is complex to reconstruct ancient patterns

really we need a good sampling of roman Britain ancient DNA bones - this would be v informative

the final thing to realise is that humans have *always* been migrating and *always* having sex :)

we genetically mix far faster than ppl intuitively realise and - e.g. - skin colour is v small part of the genome

this means classifying ethnicity by skin colour+features is not actually good indicators of ancestry
