Other groups on eastern borders of Roman empire def have similar roots e.g. Sarmatians + Huns :)
First def present in Roman Britain and latter possibly present in both Roman and post-Roman...
First entering Roman Britain as auxiliary troops perhaps?
Seems credible: Sarmatians & Taifali def did and possible that some Huns so used :)
