@typejunky I think only 18% of thorp names from the Danelaw are of parishes---any evidence from non-parish names?
@caitlinrgreen there are three within five miles of the city: Thorpe, Bowthorpe and Pockthorpe, also two ~daeles. All outside the OE limits.

@caitlinrgreen i don't know, The largest Pockthorpe in Norfolk which is now part of Norwich became a large parish just outside the wall.
