If the C14 dating of the early quranic fragments IS wrong, it's not obvious how - the protocols are excellent. It's all very puzzling...
@ijazbadshah1 @holland_tom yes, ran out of words! It's statistical error factor, but if retested/multiple samples etc then less of a worry

@caitlinrgreen@ijazbadshah1@holland_tom the C14 results could be correct, but it could also be a palimpsest (or just old parchment). -
@caitlinrgreen@ijazbadshah1@holland_tom unless that can be dismissed with certainty, 'old' dates aren't necessarily a problem? -
@caitlinrgreen@ijazbadshah1@holland_tom it's a pity the ink can't be dated. -
@alanrew@caitlinrgreen@holland_tom Exactly &that's why I think Carbon dating could only be used as a tentative reference not an exact date -
@ijazbadshah1@alanrew@caitlinrgreen Except when it backs up Muslim tradition, right? -
@holland_tom@alanrew@caitlinrgreen No sir. Facts & Science doesn't know any bias, religion, creed or propaganda.
