Also evidence for Middle Saxon+Viking metalworking here, w/ v significant concentration of finds from these periods:pic.twitter.com/uYAGj431Qe
The 8thC silver-gilt mount is esp interesting, has been compared to St Ninian's Isle treasure pieces+Leicester find:pic.twitter.com/hzb2sca7PE
Pre-Viking finds interesting, ofc, given place-name Ketsby--however, plenty of Late Saxon/Viking material too:pic.twitter.com/BMMwUezCif
@LandscapeIan The DMV I mentioned to you previously :) Also of interest @LostVillages @beresfords_dmv ?
As mentioned previously, only cropmarks and chance finds now survive at Ketsby DMV, as earthworks bulldozed in 1960s:pic.twitter.com/Njsln0Dy1x
@caitlinrgreen I can't believe how much of our heritage was swept away in the 1960's/70's. It was obviously less precious in those decades.
@michelemcook1 Sadly true :( They pulled down surviving 14thC building then too, then a barn, but said to be original medieval Ketsby hall.
Lots of finds from medieval period too, w/ evidence for Ketsby as St Margaret pilgrimage centre partic interesting:pic.twitter.com/iOp8FFJ6Cz
A lovely 15thC ring showing a rather smiley depiction of St Margaret, from Lanhargy Farm quarry, East Cornwall:pic.twitter.com/gBOLMsY6YW
Yet another medieval St Margaret pilgrim badge has been found in Lincolnshire: https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/708569 …pic.twitter.com/N3eA6uplPo
@caitlinrgreen doing an article on iconographic rings- which museum is the Margaret ring in? (apologies if I've asked before!)
@TheMedievalDrK It's in the Royal Cornwall, Truro --> @Cornwall_Museum :)
@caitlinrgreen @Cornwall_Museum excellent! Thanks! Will add it to my list!

Gainsthorpe DMV, nr Kirton in Lindsey--great pics on English Heritage site & free to visit :) http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/gainsthorpe-medieval-village/history/ …pic.twitter.com/I3j4coo1t4
@caitlinrgreen oooh, don't know this one :) must visit sometime, looks interesting
@CatherineEsse It's nice it's an English Heritage site, so none of those 'am I going to get shot?' worries ;)
@caitlinrgreen always easier not to have hostile armed locals type anxieties :)
