@caitlinrgreen ahaan nice. Now it makes perfect sense actually I thought Vikings were only a Scandinavian phenomenon so that confused me
@Umarkarim89 Glad it clarifies :) Btw, Vikings came from Scandinavia, but conquered/settled E+N England from 9thC: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danelaw
@caitlinrgreen ahaan well our exposure with Vikings is mainly from the TV series :D but a as far as I know they settled in very small number
@Umarkarim89 it varied---a lot more settlers in areas of England where Islamic coins found than elsewhere :)
@caitlinrgreen Dr Caitlin can i ask in which subject is your doctorate and from where?
@Umarkarim89 Sure: archaeology and Oxford :)
@caitlinrgreen ahaan wow big names. We have a little archaeology department at our University :) And 1 of our professors is also Oxford doctr
@caitlinrgreen amazing research even it makes sense for a layman like me about this archeo-historical mapping great
