Image of late/post-Roman church in forum via http://www.visitlincoln.com/things-to-do/interest/the-church-of-st-paul-in-the-bail …; I've discussed in detail recently, C14 makes clear is pre-600 church :)
Worth noting that this British church at the centre of Roman Lincoln appears to have been rebuilt in 5thC to fit a congregation of 100 ppl.
@caitlinrgreen @DrSueOosthuizen Yay. Love this. So important and yet the site is so inconspicuous, tiny and difficult to find.
@HipBookfairy @DrSueOosthuizen Indeed! Just outline in bricks of the 2nd church, close to a car park! Tho' visible Roman well=the baptistry?
@caitlinrgreen @DrSueOosthuizen Was once standing near there and asked by stranger "So where is Roman Lincoln?" #lackofinformation
@HipBookfairy @DrSueOosthuizen Hah! I guess it could be better signposted! And they were so close to Mjnt Wall too!
@caitlinrgreen @DrSueOosthuizen Lincoln! They don't know how to promote their history. They had equivalent of Jorvik there & nobody knows.
