@caitlinrgreen I recorded this one on PAS myself (sadly failed to acquire it for the museum). Latest Britannia has Roger Tomlin's thoughts -
@lidongni shame couldn't get it, clearly same workshop as Bishop Norton! :) Tomlin's reading is interesting & has parallel, but the A...? -
@caitlinrgreen re the reading, Tomlin has it as 'MLLEDO' but I can definitely see a horizontal bar on the second letter. -
@lidongni Oh, are they actively trying to sell?! Hopefully will come back to you :) On Tomlin, that's interesting, couldn't make it out on > -
@lidongni > the picture, but that and the lack of an A makes his suggestion look questionable...

@caitlinrgreen Amazing, & interesting since I study medieval Swedish fonts. Is there any study or publication? -
@AnnaBlennow This is worth a look & lists additional refs :) http://www.academia.edu/1987347/A_Group_of_Romano-British_lead_tanks_from_Lincolnshire_and_Nottinghamshire … See also Britannia 2012 for alternative view etc :) -
@caitlinrgreen Great! Thanks! Especially the ’fecit’-inscriptions are interesting for development of artisans’ inscriptions.@SarahEBond -
@AnnaBlennow@SarahEBond no problem :) Btw Tomlin in Britannia 2014 has new find w/ closely related inscription, tho PAS reading prob better

@caitlinrgreen Never seen it like that, only dry studio arch lit photos... Love it. -
@VoxHiberionacum Aw, thank you! It was taken whilst it was on display at The Collection in Lincoln, which is a quite wonderful new museum!
