The Fisher King? The Wounded King. It was either that or the big cat or wolf that bit him as depicted in Otranto cathedral. The 12th century has him out of time unless King Arthur was really being based upon King Tafur. If he was bitten by a wolf it might explain many stories :-)

Of course southern Italy and Sicily were Magna Graecia. Given the amount of Hades and Persephone material in Calabria and that King Oenotrus left Arcadia, Greece for Calabria after his father King Lycaon defied Zeus, it was very likely the underworld of ancient Greece.
