Of course, worth recalling once more that Lincoln Cathedral was the tallest building in the *world* from 1311 to 1548 (160m), when its central spire fell in a storm! Just got this 'sent' post card of Lincoln Cathedral, West front, dated August 1906. Interesting to see it minus the tall spires and the building in front of the cathedral one story lower.
