This is a fabulous gesture and obviously a move in the right direction but why not put them in some local schools or homeless shelters as well. I’m sure the average ticket holder can already afford them...

Fans come from a range of backgrounds & many tickets are gifted to people on low incomes via charities/foundations. Transport to the games is also provided. This is just one of many campaigns lobbying for free period products in public loos.
-
You are absolutely right fans do not fit a particular demographic, does it have to be a one or the other situation? I suspect the amount of people making use of these products at the ground is quite small if you break down just the % of women, then the % menstruating % in need.
-
I would just be more impressed if alongside the products in the ground toilets there was a note saying they also offer these to a local school and or women’s shelter.
-
Football clubs aren't responsible for schools/shelters - Govts are. But, high profile PL clubs offering free menstrual products to their fans sends a strong message to others & highlights
#periodpoverty. -
I completely agree with you. It’s a sad reflection on governments that these products aren’t free to begin with.
-
The Scottish Govt provides free period products to pupils & students at schools, colleges, & universities. I hope other other Govts follow suit.

Last Saturday I was delighted to find Tramere Rovers also had stacks of tampons for lady fans. And they won, so it’s clearly cause and effect.
-
@TranmereRovers via@Tranmere_Trust were the first club in England to get involved

Hope that every woman who takes advantaged of every free tampon/ towel via this scheme donates at least 1 full PACKET to their local food bank. Make the difference where it’s needed.
