I hate the fact that, unless I’m on my own, I will always ask my wife to deal with seeing lost or upset children. Going against every fibre of my being to just get in there and help them. Horrible world, when decent people can’t do the right thing.

Surely you see a kid in need you help them, otherwise your just leaving them vulnerable. There is no guilt to being nice.

"unless I'm on my own" I agree. that's why it's in the tweet.

Yeah, there's a reason they have that fear.https://www.denverpost.com/2017/06/28/florida-man-lost-toddler-find-parents-smeared-online-predator/ …

Being expected to undo bra clasps one handed... back-to-front... in the dark within seconds... in a sexy way...we don’t have daily experience of these things.... apparently a pair of pliers and a knee in the back ruins the mood
-
The trick is to use your left hand on the clasp.

It’s so different on holiday in Spain and Greece where local men ruffle the kids hair and smile and laugh at them. It is very sad that the same behaviour back home would result in suspicion and is therefore very rare.

If a man is kind the assumption is he is weak or has ulterior motives

It is fair enough. We're physically indistinguishable from monsters. Not much to be done about it. On the plus side the monsters mostly leave us alone.

Can confirm - have had an older man come up to me in a shopping centre asking me to find out if a kid was ok because he felt he couldn’t. V sad.
-
I've been that man before.
-
That makes me so very sad :(.

I’ve helped a small child in a supermarket to the customer services so that they can tell their parents on the tanoy, and have been slapped 6 times by the mother who assumed I was taking her child. I still try and help as it breaks my heart to see a child cry.

This is so sad. Not least that we make the assumption that a child will be safer with a woman rather than a big bad men. Lots of men I know are more maternal than some women

Yeah. Kind men are oft frowned upon or not taken seriously by other men, but…? Kind, decent, thoughtful men are the ONLY ones this girl will give the time of day to – although, I’ve been hoodwinked there a few times, too, by poseurs.
