and newsflash, literally everything costs money, the detergent you use to clean your clothes, the washing machine that you use to do so, the water you connect to it, the electricity to turn it on, that doesn't stop you wearing or buying clothes, does it?

Correction, it's proven that you absorb more information from paper than screens. There have been multiple studies. You clearly live in a parallel dimension where everyone can a fford literally anything they want. Especially small children with their disposable income.

I'm disabled, on a fixed low income with very limited mobility, I know better than anyone how hard it can be financially, I can't afford most things I want, but that doesn't stop me reading or enjoying doing so. I don't need a £2000 ipad to do it either.

IPads don't cost £2000. Clearly your getting your prices from the Internet.

actually they can, and that is my point, you don't need top of the range electronics to access the internet or to read books, you don't even need particularly recent hardware to do so. Just like what I'm using to talk to you now as it happens.

Give me link to an iPad that's not a special edition or solid gold worth £2000 from a reputable retailer and I'll buy it for you. You defiantley don't need any hardware to access a library. Plus you get to interact with, you know, real humans.

I don't need or want you to buy anything for me, stop being so facetious. You do need things to access a library for many people though, like transport for example, and as I said many posts ago, and like you pointed out, libraries are not "packed like a busy bar" either.

Walk to the library, stop arguing with people on twitter, get some fresh air, read a book, talk to a real person.

would love to, but as I pointed out earlier I'm disabled with severe mobility issues, and the internet is a lifeline for me mentally and physically, like many people across the country. But please, carry on with your suggestions, I love reading them, they're very uplifiting.

So roll to the library then, go outside and talk to people instead of feeling sorry for yourself.

Weird hedgehog avatar man, stop being impolite to nice people on my timeline. This is a chat about libraries. Telling people where to "roll" is inappropriate. Why don't YOU pop out for some fresh air? Sounds like you need it.

Why would you assume their gender? Are females not capable of saying such horrible things. There's no indication that the hedgehog is male nor female.

How do you know I wasn't outside when I said it? Learn to not be so precious, maybe then you'll enjoy life a bit more. Go on, slag off some idiots on the internet ;)
