Statistically, these men will have MULTIPLE women in their lives - wives, daughters, mothers, sisters, co-workers - who've been sexually assaulted. Those women have almost certainly not talked to these men about it. And that's the problem, right there.https://twitter.com/aravosis/status/1047287317713567744 …

And women are voting for these people. Just had to remove a friend from facebook as she shared and liked a post from her friend with a huge list of behaviours women should follow to avoid getting raped. Women blaming women, its frightening

Not explicitly true. I’ve held my keys, avoided jogging, and avoid eye contact due to fear. State of mind and living locations are reasons. Accept your overall point but dispute such simplicity

I'm sorry if you were the victim of any assault. I'm glad to hear you take precautions to prevent an assault. I have to wonder at what time you felt it necessary? I've been avoiding eye contact with men while walking down the street since the age of nine.

I have been many many years ago. So you actually agree - I dislike simplistic gender based analysis that doesn’t ever ask men/women. I totally agree women have it 1000x worse, but balance is needed

It is because of that you are aware and take precautions. For most women it is engrained in our psyche. Men rarely realize they can also be a victim until they already are.

Women's failure to talk about their sexual assaults is not the problem: men sexually assaulting women is the problem. Politicians not checking themselves, not bothering to inform themselves of the lives of 52% of their constituents is the problem

Also the super creepy “beautiful daughters” bit and pause. The kindest interpretation of which is that women and girls only have one function in their/his worldview ie to be mute and look pretty. The other interpretations.... well ugh.

Sickening as it is, we have all encountered men just like this at some point or another - misogyny is blood curdling real, the patriarchy is real, the reason women stay silent is real. Those "Women for Trump" though. I'm torn between pity and abject horror.

Statistically many of them will have had some bad experience too, and were probably too scared to report or just not believed. I wonder if the penny will finally drop with that demographic. It’s like Stockholm Syndrome at the moment!
