Curious if these men defending Kavanaugh would have felt the same if Kavanaugh was a gay man "trying to get to second base" with THEM at a drunken party against their will.

Or, indeed, their daughters.
-
Oh no. I've heard men say "boys will be boys" about their own daughters' assailants. Including mine.
-
That's terrifying. I had thought this was depressing enough:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=flIM3AUyQ3A&t=0m22s …

I just hate the ‘heart’ button. Twitter needs to step up here.
-
I'd gladly keep the heart button if Twitter would step-up on their Nazi problem, honestly, lol.

Most men’s conspiratorial sudden loud group laugh, just about anywhere, is every woman’s involuntary flinch, always

Funny how "teenage boy at teenage party trying to get to second base" sounds a lot like "locker room talk".

Yeah, if she's not interested after 3 seconds then she's not interested.

So disingenuous. I'm sure most of us have behaved inappopriately at some point. I don't believe most of us have ambushed a girl in the dark, dragged her into a room, pinned her down, stifled her screams and tried to tear off her clothes - then been unrepentant decades later.

Boys know right from wrong. The immoral ones just know how to wrap it in baseball analogies that minimise the coercion.

Let’s be real fucking clear here...a teenage boy doesn’t GET to try to go to second base for 30 seconds, LET ALONE 30 MINUTES, if the teenage girl doesn’t CONSENT!! Why is this so hard to figure out?! (sorry for the language)

It would be one thing if he acknowledged his abhorrent mistakes as a teen and young adult, that shows growth and maturity, but petulant denials show that he's stuck in the same mentality that women owe him something.

I grew up in the 70's. If a girl said no or was uncomfortable with how fast things were going, I stopped.! It's called decency and morals. Any man ignoring this then or today are justifying sexual assault and asserting power and control over a victim. Stop making excuses.!

To extend the metaphor, there is a difference between getting to second base, and stealing second base.

Crazy talk. Nobody is disqualifying the guy from anything except the right to sit in judgement in the highest court of the most powerful nation in the world. FFS. It's not a lot for Americans to ask that their Supreme Court justices should be completely "non-rapey"?!

He’s never going to get it. 30 mins of flirting is one thing - 30 mins of what he did is sexual assault. He doesn’t get to decide how that made her feel. She does.
-
But it could POSSIBLY be ok for her to make up a story to smear him?
-
If that helps men with a misogynistic bent deal with their own shittiness...sure.
-
I should imagine being cornered in a lift is pretty manageable compared to being raped or sexually assaulted.
-
What about the moral crime of voting this man’s nomination through regardless of doubts about his character and morals? They are not hurting him. They are trying to make him face the consequences of his behaviour.
-
I’m more worried that you think that an obviously intelligent woman has felt the need to recount a traumatic experience that has blighted her life should be ignored because he is Trump’s nominee.
-
Presumably if a woman came out and attacked someone you’re politically opposed to you’d be right behind her?!
-
Also you might need to read up on Mother Theresa! I think we’re done here, don’t you!?
