There’s countless women on twitter (and elsewhere) explaining why they didn’t report, if these deliberately obtuse men care, which I suspect they don’t:

Pretty depressing. On the plus side, I loved the quote from a dem senator yesterday that ‘bravery is contagious’. Prof ford has hopefully ‘infected’ and we’ll start to change the broken norms these tweets represent

The other one: How can she not recall how she got home. THAT is a comment from someone who is fortunate enough not to have had something like this happen to them. She sure remembered every single detail about the assault.

I suspect he also probably believes that no women that he knows have ever been sexually assaulted, because if they had they'd have told him and reported it to the police. What an asshole.

Aghast at this. Why many of us never come forward about sexual assaults and violent rape. Still we get the blame. Utterly depressing.
-
I am astounded at reading some of the tweets on this. Can't people imagine the fear and humiliation. Cant they grasp for one tiny second how a woman feels about coming forward with the details. I am totally gobsmacked by the ignorance shown.
-
Yeah. Inclined to say women and men, though.

I’d like to ask all the men who are questioning her if they themselves have ever been raped or suffered an attempted rape. How quickly would you tell someone? Would you even do that? Would you bottle it up and hope to work through the pain? (1/2)

This also may explain both. I know Dr Ford isn't accusing Kavanaugh of rape, but just look at the stats for convictions in the US. 'Out of 1000 rapes, 994 perpetrators walk free'. No wonder so many victims of sex crimes don't come forward.pic.twitter.com/Epjt9Isrcs

To which I would reply, he came into public view when working on the Starr Report. No time better than then, surely?

Other people's lives are not your fucking debating point.

Other people’s serious public accusations are precisely that.

I would prefer, then, they were investigated by the FBI than by some random chancer on Twitter.

And his mother was a local judge st the time. The “he said, she said” would have been no better then than it is now.
