The answer isn’t changing tone or redefining acknowledgement as rhetoric. It’s men recognizing what components form your reaction - why do you find this inflammatory? - and how that reaction itself is a reflection of your accustomed privileges/views

No it’s about not using labels that inflame and obscure the legitimacy of your argument. It’s unnecessary, unhelpful and ultimately self-defeating.

What labels are you referring to?

The only one I see labeling anything is you. Labeling the patriarchy as ‘nonsense’, ‘not a conspiracy’ - implying women who navigate oppressive power dynamics daily are paranoid conspiracy theorists.

So what is ‘the patriarchy’ ? By adding the definite article you turn it into an institution, a conspiracy, a movement; you label it. By doing so you demonise, you distance and you eradicate nuance. And that is a form of tyranny.

Perhaps if you’re unable to think critically, and recognize that power dynamics occur on multiple levels, from the institutional to the individual

Your point lacked nuance. As in, you didn’t take into account that some people are already well versed in this discussion and not phased by a definite article

And you understand that some people are familiar with this discussion by necessity, yes? As in, a woman deciding what to wear anticipating street harassment and how she will respond, versus personal comfort? For example

I think it’s embarrassing when men can’t handle their part of this discussion. if you insist on remaining ignorant and wrong, I insist on weaponizing my sex appeal. One way or another, the patriarchy will be brought to heel. Deal with it
