Highly intelligent analysis and I completely agree but can we please stop with the patriarchy nonsense ? It is not a conspiracy; it just makes you sound like David Icke or Alex Jones.
-
You are right; it is not a conspiracy. It is a societal construct and it is damaging for both men and women.
-
It’s become dangerously close to ideology; this never advances the cause as it destroys nuance and constructive dialogue. All I’m saying is drop the inflammatory rhetoric and you’ll win more hearts and minds.
-
Anything that forces men to examine their privilege and accept that women are changing their behavior in ways that reduce male privilege is going to be inflammatory...to men
-
The answer isn’t changing tone or redefining acknowledgement as rhetoric. It’s men recognizing what components form your reaction - why do you find this inflammatory? - and how that reaction itself is a reflection of your accustomed privileges/views
-
No it’s about not using labels that inflame and obscure the legitimacy of your argument. It’s unnecessary, unhelpful and ultimately self-defeating.
-
What labels are you referring to?
-
The only one I see labeling anything is you. Labeling the patriarchy as ‘nonsense’, ‘not a conspiracy’ - implying women who navigate oppressive power dynamics daily are paranoid conspiracy theorists.
