    I wrote a personal essay about the challenges of getting paid to do what you love most as a job. In my case, that thing was bike touring. Very stoked to start off 2020 early with my first Outside print byline!

    They say do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life—but some passion pursuits are best left as hobbies.

    I'm just not a big media crier, so I'm mystified. Highly recommend the show—especially for people who loved the books in the '80s and '90s. They've updated all the old plot-lines with more people of color, queer and trans characters, and stuff that's relevant to kids today.

    I've cried at some point in almost every episode of the new Baby-Sitters Club show, and I can't figure out if it's the most moving piece of media in all existence, or if I'm just using it to finally process some pandemic anxiety and my 20-year-old cat's death?

    Every once in awhile I tell a new friend about some weird thing I did in the past and they don't believe me and demand photo evidence. Today that thing was running 31 miles through Philly dressed like Rocky Balboa and I even found an old link

    I recognize that every living being on this earth is trying to buy a sub-$1000 "fitness bike" right now due to the pandemic. That said, where can I buy my wife one? She finally wants to ride, right at the moment when they're all sold out everywhere.

    Nice to come back from a Twitter hiatus to some actual good news!

    The 6-3 ruling, which also protects transgender people from discrimination in employment, is a resounding victory for LGBT rights. Trump appointee Neil Gorsuch wrote the opinion and Justices Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh and Clarence Thomas dissented.

    We remember a time when HIV/AIDS was called “gay-related immune deficiency” aka GRID and “gay cancer”. NEVER AGAIN will we let world leaders transfer blame to communities. Trust science over discrimination always.

    I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the “borders” from China - against the wishes of almost all. Many lives were saved. The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!

    It's frustrating to me that so many bike bros I know are expressing an "I'm not afraid of a virus! We ride no matter what!" attitude about big group rides. It's not cool or badass, it's just selfish and ignorant. How hard is it to ride alone for a few weeks?
