We also heard about the impact co-ops can have for Indigenous people from @CHFCanada President, Tina Stevens. Raised in the Native Inter-Tribal Housing Co-op in #LdnOnt, Tina advocates for co-ops as a way to address the lack of affordable, stable housing for Indigenous women.
Affordable Housing!!! (LMAO) There is no such thing. Unless you are making housing affordable to those who rely on the meager income supports like CPPD or provincial disability (ODSP provides only $1169/mo), then this entire endeavor is mere peacocking for the electoral base.
Affordable for who? Low income seniors, those on disability or those living below the poverty line? No not us.

There's a new type of housing option, not yet discovered by any govts in Canada, which would offer a marriage of co-op housing, affordable solutions for seniors/disabled all living in one community. A community built on helping ea other - one form (there are many) of co-housing
