Since 2007/08, federal & provincial net debt (inflation-adjusted) has doubled from $1.0 trillion to a projected $2.0 trillion in 2020/21. In 2020/21, combined federal and provincial net debt is expected to equal 91.6% of the Canadian economy, up from 65.2% last year.Feb. 2, 2021

And we're darned lucky to have a government that understands that it IS the job of gov't to take on debt when Cdn individuals can't, to keep our economy propped up. We'll be in relatively good shape when covid ends and prepared to participate in the coming growth cycle.
