Are you on edibles? Having a farm my rifle was a tool and a very dangerous one. Legal gun ownership is not taken lightly or without responsibility, laws and training. Moving to the city, Torontonians have no clue why we need legal rural gun ownership. You need education yourself

Gun violence is usually by criminals. Now you need to do a raid blitz to remove the guns and arrested the criminals. If not, I'm not sure how this issue will be resolved.
