In Canada we have a choice. We do not need to support Pride if we do not agree with it. We accept it as a person choice to agree or not agree. We do not judge them. We accept it as their choice. That is Canadian.

If you are the leader of a party who advocated against same-sex marriage in open parliament, your refusal to attend Pride now invalidates any argument that your thinking has "evolved" over time. I could never vote for a leader who thinks my marriage is an abomination.
