The new amendments are: - full Ellis Act repeal - full Costa Hawkins repeal - full Prop 13 repeal - $100b in public transportation funding - BART on the Peninsula - No war with Iran - a pony (this one's just for me)

Public comment! I spoke, supporting the additional height and density of the project and asking that free passes be provided to residents (along with free passes which are already being provided)

Since 1991, San Mateo has limited new housing to just 5 stories and 50 units per acre. Under 1763, this project can go from 5 stories to 7, and could see units increase from 160 to 225!

Tonight, San Mateo’s city council is exploring becoming one of the first cities to utilize , which allows 100% affordable housing projects to bypass restrictive height and zoning regulations. I’m here in support!

It's officially election season. We unanimously endorsed Shelly Masur as our next State Senator for District 13 (Sunnyvale to Brisbane). Vote for her from now until March 3rd! Do your own research: More of our endorsements here:

In a market where people making $200k are moving into houses that people elsewhere rent for $500/month, creating a new unit that the person making $200k moves into so they don't move into the existing house is the same net benefit as creating a new BMR unit from scratch.

YIMBYs are the main actors working on repealing Article 34 to make public housing in California possible again, but go off 🙄

A bill focused on affordable housing will likely not actually build much housing unless the state wants to step in to subsidize it.

We need to elect pro-housing Senators. People who understand the need for reform. This year we have that opportunity. Shelly Masur is an intensely pro-housing Senate candidate on the Peninsula. She has my full support. Please consider donating:

In 2019, renters in CA overcame landlords + realtors to get state-wide rent caps and just cause protections (good!), but with dangerous loopholes (bad!) Stasha Powell () and () talk urgency ordinances and more! LISTEN>>>

To those of you who care about : Please call the Senators who voted Aye and thank them. Thank their staffs. I don’t care where you live. They’ve been put through the ringer by screeching suburban Nimbys for the last 2 years. One thank-you call washes away 10 nasty ones.

I was proud to be among a group of young Peninsula residents who held Senator Hill's feet to the fire last night over his vote against . While I respect the Senator, my generation will not sit idly by and let our electeds continue to engage in housing crisis denialism.

Just made a donation to Shelly Masur for California State Senate 2020. We need a pro-housing state senator to replace termed-out Jerry Hill, who voted no on .

Mike thinks affluent, exclusionary communities like his just need to be "incentivized" to provide housing. Mike is opposed to . Mike is not, in fact, a "get-it-done kind of guy." Help us ensure Mike never becomes a state senator. Vote for Shelly Masur instead!

I'm deeply disappointed that failed to advance today, but we have to move forward. As we do that, I hope every Senator will think about this comment by East Palo Alto Councilmember Larry Moody. "If 'crisis' doesn't mean anything to us today, when will it matter?"

The opponents of have real concerns, but have offered no substantive alternative with the same kind of scope of SB 50. Things have to change. We need to reset the conversation.
