threatens our ability to enact the kind of transformative change we need at this moment in history. Truly undoing its corrosive impact on our democracy requires a change in law, which is why the first bill i'm cosponsoring is for a full repeal of the statute.

Excuse me? The president's war powers are reserved for genuine national emergencies, and can't be invoked simply because he doesn't get his way. Keeping up with the daily barrage of Trump's antics can be exhausting, but we must not become inured to this authoritarian behavior.

We used to tax the economic elites higher than this back in the 1950s when the rate was 90%. We see doing the right thing, and we expect and to advocate for the people!

US Rep. takes seriously her oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States.” As such, she is an informed and enthusiastic advocate for using the impeachment power that is afforded the House to hold Donald Trump to account.

It's a very corrupt system and they don't want it to change....they boo you because you are that change. They feed from the corruption within the system... you chose to stand against it and fight for the American people. You are a Patriot....as an American citizen I thank you.

Admission: It's very weird to have Democratic Party operatives vilify my reporting as supposed proof that I'm trying to destroy Democrats -- while I'm also literally married to a Democratic elected official.

Everyone any sort of even marginally left should be relentlessly critiquing Joe Biden and any Democrat who supports Social Security or Medicare Cuts. It is draining and annoying this even needs to be said

Thank you to , , and for voting NO on the PAYGO rule. They understand this isn't just a fight against Republicans, it's a fight against Establishment Democrats who will do their best to slow down progressive priorities.

I want to congratulate the House for holding hearings for the first time on Medicare for all. I’m confident the results will show that Medicare for all is the way forward if we want to guarantee heath care to all people in a cost-effective way.

Don't conflate the House rule with the statute - both should be scrapped. The House, the Senate & the White House all need to be in agreement in order to repeal the statute. But the House can scrap the rule with zero unintended consequences. (more...)

Oh, c'mon! Remember when the NYT called him an "effective" legislator who scored victories through wheeling and dealing, shaming & cajoling? You don't? That's because they re-wrote it 10 secs later calling him "small-ball" with few achievements. Of course!
