A5. There is no transparency in prisons so cops can do anything they want without consequences. Press are not allowed in prison so the public is not aware of the enormity of police brutality and violence against those imprisoned. #CopsAndCages

A5. They lie. Lying is policy & procedure. Holtzclaw targeted Black women with criminal records bc he knew they'd be less credible. Incarcerated people are treated, by definition, as non-credible. Prisons create perfect conditions for lying as a rule. #CopsAndCages #DefundPolice

A5. Those attacked by police outside prison could maybe find people to support them through survival & getting accountability. If attacked by guards, you're isolated. If you talk to others, you're monitored. If you report, you're punished. Prison is a nightmare. #CopsAndCages

A5. The only form of concealing is simply away from the outside public. “Out of sight out of mind”. The brutality and impunity is blatant and purposefully in front of our faces to send messages of who’s in power/control, instill fear, and administer harm.

A5. In Cobb County jail, they drew a literal curtain in front of an infirmary cell as soon as they realized other detainees were watching a crew of people beat a man unconscious (possibly to death). Deputies knew about this happening & literally covered it up. No one was charged.
