The first edition of Citidyll was a bound book in a cassette case. The second edition is out now, and the book has made the tape obsolete. Technology moves so fast these days.

highly prefer tiny online journals of young writers with wild internet-y voices to established journals where Career Poets write shit like ‘the cantalope / misshapen like the wind / my parents held close’

“Aelindromes (φ–π–√2)”, in which I present a new type of palindromic literary constraint, is downloadable (PDF): “Aelindromes (φ–π–√2)” remains purchasable as a leaflet from Penteract Press:

I'm still banging this drum... If we're to get funding, we need to demonstrate a clear need for what we're offering. Are you a writer under 30? What do you need from literary webzines? What opportunities / support would you like?

poets aren't very often doing much to dispel the feeling that to be a successful poets you have to be friends with and LOVE the work of all the other poets.

If literary magazines were required to print a disclaimer accompanying each piece identifying how the writing came in – (blind) submission, solicitation, agent, recommendation, etc. — everyone would lose their shit

This talk on code poetry by is great. Code poetry can encourage us to look with different eyes at the functional code and technology around us.

I've had sight of several Eyewear Publishing contracts, and, with permission, want to share and talk about elements found in them.

Screengrab: "The Author may not claim any breach on the grounds of “irreconcilable” or “personal” differences, unless these can be clearly documented over a period of time and only if the grounds are such as would normally end a marriage or other serious relationship – “rude emails” or “hurt feelings” are not enough."
"The Author’s agreement to sign this contract is a de facto non-disclosure agreement in terms of disseminating or discussing the business, financial, legal, and/or editorial matters pertaining to the Work; the Author may share such information with close friends, family, and agents, but expressly not with the public, which shall include statements made online or in social media, up to and including post-termination"
Screegrab: "Under no circumstances shall the author refer these matters to “The Society of Authors” as the Publishers consider them biased against small press publishing and unduly aggressive."
    A screengrab discussing royalty terms.

you can delete, but there’re receipts. As there are receipts for the abusive messages you’ve sent your authors. I hate being this dude, I truly do. But your behavior is a disgrace—to the brilliant poets you publish, and to the readers who buy their books.

also i know from friends who have or were going to publish with eyewear, that they breach contracts and ask for authors to put up money for print costs ALL. THE. TIME. ask authors for money, etc. That is what is driving their authors to other presses.

I see a lot of young poets saying things like "full rhyme is dumb, lol", like accidental Miltons, as if people haven't been saying things like that for centuries. All I hear is "I wan't to lean in to the current fashion as much as possible". Fads pass. Do something different.
