ugh can’t believe I wasted all these years believing in the power of institutions when I could have believed in something fun like horoscopes

History has shown that for peace to be possible it has to be agreeable to *both* sides. The administration acknowledges that and then ignores it. Here’s my take on the plan.

One important question none of the Trump plan’s detractors (including me) seem to want to answer is raised here by Bret Stephens - what if, for all the plan’s many faults, the Palestinians will never get a better offer in the future?

Is Abbas about to get an unintended gift from ? He has been trying to lock in Arab states to his rejection of the plan so far w/o success. Yet If Israel does a wholesale annexation this Sunday of all settlements, Abbas could get his wish. Up to Trump.

The real Hail Mary pass here: no Palestinian state without the PA regaining control of Gaza. How’s that going to happen?

Pretty striking to watch Bibi and Trump shake hands on a peace agreement rather than Israeli and Palestinian leaders.

Bibi waits for Gantz to get on a plane back to Israel and then announces he is waiving his immunity. His flair for political drama is second to none.

A moment before Trump’s peace deal finally unfolds tomorrow, maybe it’s best for all respondents to take a deep breath and read at least a few sections of the plan before launching the automatic barrage. Analysis

Finally - some much needed savvy politicking from Gantz.

Two leaders, one on trial today, the other facing 3 major criminal indictments at home, employing the symbols and veneer of international diplomacy in brazen domestic political effort to help re-elect the other. 👇

It goes without saying that while Bibi and Gantz have been invited to DC, the Palestinians, ostensibly the other side to this “peace plan” haven’t been notified and won’t be there. There is nothing for them in this plan, but not that anyone should be surprised by that.
