"You don't need to run a fully validating node" is the crypto equivalent to "you don't need weapons and skills for self defense." It's a particularly dangerous mindset because it's true... until it isn't.

No, it's the equivalent of "you don't need to load your own ammo." It's a fine skill, someone has to do it, but it fundamentally doesn't affect your ability to use the tech in a decentralized way barring some catastrophe.

No. Money is much higher risk then email. Not having the capacity as a civilian to verify the integrity of the accounting ledger is a form of centralization.

Sure. except if it is centralized enough, we may not see the tragic consequences until years have passed and we are all deep in it. See facebook. Speaking of which, any idea what EOS is doing about privacy? might become a fantastic surveillance platform otherwise.
