I'd like to get him on the show, haven't yet figured out how to get a response from him though. I've watched all his recent critiques and while he has some points, the presentation is so hyperbolic as to make it difficult to separate what's real from what's "outrage"

cool. yeah, i too would like to tease out the hyperbolic from the technical stuff. just the facts! but i think Rick
@Falkvinge makes a good point about the ROUTING problem. i hope Rick responds to your invitation

-
I said almost exactly the same thing to Elizabeth Stark earlier today. The whitepaper for lightning was written years ago so ricks huffing and puffing about lack of detail on routing isn't the question, the relevant question is what is current state of the research.
-
It's a lot easier to make up imaginary problems than to build real technology and solve real problems.

Seriously.

just finished listening to the latest LTB episode on
#Lightning. good to know that there are lots of developers excited to push it forward. the comparison with Ethereum dev community is apt. let’s just hope Lightning goes beyond ICOs and Cryptokitties
bring on layer 3

Rick's argument is built on the assertion that LN is being sold as a payment routing engine & that it's key innovation is path discovery. Then he spouts his knowledge of internet routing, tries to paste THAT onto LN routing, saying it's stupid & calling LN devs idiots.

-
It strikes me that Falkevinge is used to fighting an idealogical war against the establishment, and is doing here what he did with the pirate party - pointing out the problems with the status quo hyperbolicly. Unfortunately, it doesn't map so well in bitcoin as government
