Don’t invest in any altcoin that has: no real use case, infrequent GitHub commits, nonsense in their website/whitepaper, no community, no dev team, devs/founders who are hostile/insulting. That weeds out most of them. The rest you can buy some amount you are willing to lose.

From startup land it’s correlated with failure. I suspect it will be true in crypto. It means a lack of empathy and collaboration with users and also means the team is less likely to make something people want.

For me (in certain cases) it means that the Founder's are truly passionate about the project and are willing to go above and beyond to ensure the project's success. Protecting your project against lies and misinformation is one of the most important roles in Crypto...

As much as I love David, Dom and the rest of the team for their passion and hardwork, I must agree with Garry on this. A soft worded explanation/rebuttal is much more effective than telling someone off. I learned this from Dale Carnegie.

Every founder I know who created great startups (Airbnb, Instacart, Coinbase, you name it) had to go through moments where press or HN or some outside critics were savaging it. Don’t wrestle with pigs. You get dirty and the pig likes it. You’re on the next stage now
