Erik is stating objective and true facts about fees. Facts should be welcome. Our office is in the town that has the most Bitcoin accepting businesses anywhere. Stores are tearing down Bitcoin signs and accepting alts instead because Bitcoin is unusable for a retail use case.https://twitter.com/erikvoorhees/status/944064084562952192 …

What’s the percentage of cryptocurrency revenue for these stores, compared to cash/card? Would you say it’s a high enough percentage to warrant a breaking change to the base protocol people all over the world use - most of them not living in this town?

So ..."screw the businesses"? Okay... but don't be surprised when they stop using Bitcoin

I didn't say "screw" anyone Bruce. I asked a question. This is a game of tradeoffs, and we need data to make wise choices. My gut feeling, based on personal experience, is that cryptocurrencies weren't really used at these stores even when fees were low. Am I wrong?

No- we actually use crypto here and have got yesrs. This is what people don't get --- one store was 100% Bitcoin only - no fiat allowed. People believe that fiat is failed money and we want to use something else. Bitcoin is unusable.

just use $DASH. avg fee is only $0.0032 cents. it’s specifically made for payments and to fulfill the promise of the #Bitcoin whitepaper, and even do better without being a #StoreOfDrama
