it failed per the title: "A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System". but it succeeded in igniting a revolution which evolved into DAGs.

If DAGs end up settling to Bitcoin, will that be a failure? I'd consider it an evolution, or at worst, specialization.

DAGs can settle into Bitcoin but they won't have or even need to.

For coffee, agreed. For very large, high stakes transactions? You'll probably want them to. At least as of now, DAGs are less secure.
