I think its cool as hell, but ultimately miner rewards are useful and other tokens are more geared toward store of value from genesis.

Gosh, ripple practically claims 0 tx fees. It's interesting, edging is cool but it seems vulnerable by proxy botnets

Giving machines 0tx fees costs allow them to make infinite tx- and a network of them could easily engage to indefinite spamming.
