Due to some sort of clerical error, I appear to have been promoted to Associate Professor this week. Trying to figure out how to explain this to the Iota community.pic.twitter.com/mY0MrkUUZY

I probably lack context. Isn’t 20 tps a stunningly low number? Visa does >3k tps *average*, and can reach more than two orders of magnitude that.
Yes, but please read up on #IOTA architecture.
You cannot reach 3000TPS if in the first place there are no 3000 individuals making transactions in 1 second window.
Adoption takes time. But when IoT starts to play out, 3000 tps is drop in the water.
Ah, so this figure is more about increased adoption? I guess you can’t really know how many people use the service.
It's basically all made up in their heads though. Simulation of a large network with 10k+ TPS is trivial if IOTA really is designed for IoT devices with <1% the power, storage and RAM. Yet this basic test hasn't been done?
You might be able share a number of test items and strategies. You can apply? https://iota.bamboohr.co.uk/jobs/
Never underestimate the mathematical foundation and simulations done on #IOTA protocol. Bosch, Fujitsu and VW put their name on the line for IOTA. Iota recently released new IRI
Sorry, it would be a conflict of interest. I believe firmly in the laws of thermodynamics, and the power of markets won't override them for long.
