No interest in discussing IOTA - let's keep it more general and explain, how a sybil attack in a decentralized system is avoided without some type of cost? Any decentralized system advertising no fees, basically sees: please sybil attack me!

is Google free? based on your argument, it’s not. because Google makes money out of our collective data and devalues our privacy. so even centralized systems are not free.

Completely different argument and no interest in going there. I wanted to know how a truly decentralized system without fees claims to avoid a sybil attack? I am not pointing at any coins, I am keeping this conceptual here on purpose, and I am truly interested in your answer.

my point is as a user it is FREE for *me.* your perspective is for those running the application infrastructure. you need to stress the perspective of “free.”
