Thanks!I was always splitting my window so as to keep the header part of my table in the upper view of the buffer while filling it in the lower view.Can't imagine I was the only one doing that.Does it work with a first row with multi-line cells (if I remember how to make them)?

You mean when the first column contains a description of the row and is not visible? If so, I'll see if it's possible and interact smoothly with modes displaying things on the left.
