I think it's pretty clear that Apple above anyone else could do a lot of shit to make things like this easier.

@byronicman The responsibility (at least to the consumer) absolutely lies with the people asking money for a product, for sure.
@ashtonraze Completely agree. I have sympathy with the Republique team, for sure. Would be best all round if a workable solution was found.
