Hearing it's the norm for PR firms to get bonus if a Kickstarter proj smashes its goal. Have never seen that made clear to backers, though..
@davelee The opposite can be true, though: I've heard some PR firms not getting paid if a project fails.

@davelee I've seen some people break it down as "marketing" - but you're right, generally it's rarely explicitly stated.
