Right, I am going to buy an arcade machine for the shed. What's the best arcade machine? Can't be too big, I would like a trackball if possible for Marble Madness which as we all know I legally own so shhh. Don't want to do any faffing with it - plug and play. Thoughts?

There is a lot you can do, with a little (ahem) rooting around the internet for (ahem) totally legally available games, with the AtGames Legends Arcade - and it has a trackball!https://www.libertygames.co.uk/store/video_arcade_machines/retro_multiplay_arcade_machines/legends-ultimate/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw8IaGBhCHARIsAGIRRYpXXiHEvJsjjHKq2BxBuaKu_K07VKVJvDW7UARBwe2E6zPTYN4Q-ggaAraGEALw_wcB …

Out of the box the game selection isn't incredible but it's more than alright. I've not got the cab version but I do have the tabletop one, which is basically the same thing just, removed from a cab!https://www.gamingbible.co.uk/reviews/games-legends-gamer-pro-review-affordable-arcade-gaming-at-home-20201113 …

Interesting - thank you. I didn't see your review at the time, but that's a great review. £799 for the cab is certainly on the cheaper side for these things, too - and with trackball and paddles. Hmmmm.

Yeah, it's on the lower-end side of things price wise, but the quality is pretty good - entirely kid proof! Not top of the range or anything but you can swap out the sticks and buttons if you really want to and probably still save vs other options.

I will say I'm definitely going to make my own bartop at some point, and if you don't mind a bit of research and graft, building your own could also be a very fulfilling project.

Sadly I am *hopeless* at anything that involves making things. I really struggled with the 10" Picade. I would love to, but will bugger it up for sure.

This is me, too - so little time, and I don't wanna fudge it up. So far as a multi-game arcade cab goes, this one is a nice choice (tho those 1up cabs are nice too - just so few titles)

Oh watch me in 6 months from now throw a hissy fit on twitter when I absolutely screw it up big style. But I'm going to try, if nothing but to convince myself even further at my lack of DIY skills.
