      $299/£249 is one hell of price tag. That's the sort of entry point to a next generation you don't get until mid-cycle, when platform holders typically release this sort of slimmer, cheaper model. Very tempting for those who can't afford the high-end X.

      Although, it makes me wonder what they could do for a mid-cycle hardware refresh this time around (unless they can slim down the XSeX fridge into a mini-fridge?) Also wonder about the compromises to make this the "smallest Xbox ever"

      From what I read, this is more on par with Xbox One X than Xbox Series X (damn you, Microsoft, and your bizarre naming schemes), but does the lower power limit its lifespan?

      Microsoft has said One X will run next gen games for the next few years, but there will have to be a cutoff point where you have to upgrade. Some of the games announced during their July showcase made no mention of Xbox One, suggesting they won't run on current gen power.

      If that's the case, what's different about the Series S to ensure it doesn't become useless in two to three years' time? How much work is it going to be for developers to make sure games scale to XSeX *and* XSeS?
